As an adjunct professor at UBC, I teach dialects and voice acting to the graduating acting students. For 13 years I have been the principle dialects teacher and a senior acting instructor at the Vancouver Film School.
I was born and raised in New York City, though I moved to Winnipeg for high school. With a German mother and a Scottish father I have triple nationality (US/UK/CA). I first learned multiple accents at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in England. I developed technique whilst recording BBC Radio dramas opposite some of the best actors in Britain. I worked as an actor in London for 25 years including long stints in West End Shows, at The National Theatre (where I passed as a Scottish actor), and in theaters in Germany, Austria, Holland, and France.
I acted in films in London, France, Denmark, Germany, Israel and Africa, and I speak French, German, some Spanish, and a little Arabic. Having travelled extensively, explored 41 US States, and lived all over Europe, in Africa, and the West Indies, I have a broad experience of the world’s' accents and languages and their context.
I designed the accent courses for both VFS and UBC and have presented workshops at London's Central School of Speech and Drama and at The London Academy of Drama
